Juna Uehara sees beauty in small things: a stranger's energy, a mark on a wall, the color of a flower.
Born in Okinawa, she grew up on old school hip hop and Aaliyah's '90s edge. She learned her craft in New York and now works between London and Paris. Her makeup is clean, modern and all about skin, made for fashion editorial and always in service of the story.
She takes her colors from nature, a habit that began with Okinawan painter Bokunen Naka and his portraits of island women surrounded by native flowers.
